Kris Allen’s New Single – “Live Like We’re Dying” World Premiere! [FULL download]

September 21, 2009

Get this. Kris Allen just released his first single, “Live Like We’re Dying” on Z100 New York! (Listen: HERE) The song just ended, the radio jockeys are interviewing Kris now. I’m going to be incomprehensible starting now because I’m so excited!

My thoughts on the song: It was AMAZING. It’s the sort of stuff you want to listen to when you’re down, feeling low or alone. The track is very fun, very uplifting and it just raises your spirit. You can’t help but dance along with it (at least I did). It spreads a good message: live everyday like you’re dying, capture every moment cause it’s precious, and to love everyone around you. Also, I like that the song has a summer jam to it (even though summer is almost over) and the chorus is super upbeat. It’s sort of like a rap, but you’re actually singing. The whole vibe of the song is very Jason Mraz-ish, with lots of guitar  playing in the background. If you’re into Jason Mraz’s smooth soulful tunes (read: “The Remedy“, you’d have no problem with this one.  Overall: great stuff. A+

ETA: The interview just ended! The DJs said that they had recorded the interview and will be posting it up soon, so check out the website, HERE.

ETA2: Going to be posting the download link soon!

ETA3: Download link posted below! Note: This is not in HQ. This is a ripped version from the radio station interview.

ETA4: Lyrics to the song!

Sometimes we fall down, Can’t get back up
We’re hidin’ behind skin that’s too tough
How come we dont say I love you enough
Til its too late…. its not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won’t come
But we could make a feast from these crumbs
And we’re all starin’ down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you what would you wish you would have done

Gotta start

Looking at the hands of the time we been given
If this is all we got then we gotta start thinkin’
If every second counts on the clock thats tickin’
Gotta live like we’re dyin’
We only got 864 hundred seconds in a day
To turn it all around or to throw it all away
Gotta tell em that we love em while we got the chance to say
Live like we’re dyin’

And if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbye
Should be so careful who we let fall out of our lives
Or when we long for absolution there’ll be no one on the line

You never know a good thing til its gone
You never see a crash til its head on
Wny do we think we’re right when we’re dead wrong
You never know a good thing til its gone

American Idol 8 – Top 2 – Finale! [review]

May 20, 2009

OH MY EFFING GOSH. has placed Kris Allen is first place, he is in the lead my a mere 1.1%!!! Now I know, we can’t get too excited yet, since DI has been a bit incorrect in the past, but anyways! I really really think Kris can take the title home this year. This is going to be a very very close race!!

Even Simon Cowell was dressed for the occasion. BUTTON YOUR SHIRT, SIMON! No one likes to see your manboobs and chest hair. It should be censored. Spotted in the crowd! Season 7’s Carly Smithson looking HAWT! Top 36 contender Casey Carlson was in the crowd too. So was Katie Holmes! Holla! Best of all, THE TOP 13!!! I love seeing familiar faces again. Matty G looked so adorable. Awww, I miss all of them! What was with all the microphones? Is the Nokia Theater’s sound system that bad? Kara DioGuardi looked horrible tonight. She was so glum and her fake tan was so orange! *shudders*

Now to the serious stuff…

Adam Lambert – Of course he did “Mad World”. Duuh. It was his best performance to date. Adam came down the stairs in a coat! WTF? Was it raining in there? Hehe! There were dry ice smoke all around, it was very mysterious and intriguing. Props to Adam for planning the stage setup! However, it was rather familiar, we’ve seen it before. His voice wasn’t as good as we heard it the first time, the dramatic effects helped him a little. Simon wasn’t a fan. Randy dubbed it “Twilight”! That was exactly what I said a few weeks ago. It was a very solid performance.

Kris Allen – Oh poor Kris. His legs looked like they could barely touch the floor as he banged on the piano. Kris chose to sang “Ain’t No Sunshine” (good choice!) Kris executed the song beautifully. It was very powerful and I felt emotionally connected to him, just as Kara stated. He even changed the song arrangements here and there, so that it was different from what we’ve seen before. His performance sent shivers down my spine.

Who won Round 1? KRIS ALLEN.

Bah, Clive Davis chose songs better. I don’t think either of the contestants did as good as they did in the first song, but since it wasn’t their choice of song, I don’t blame them.

Adam Lambert – Adam did “A Change Is Gonna Come”. The judges called it  his best performance of the season, I don’t think so. It was a good performance, but it wasn’t spectacular. Adam had really good control over his voice, it wasn’t all over the place. He started off good and tender, but when it got to the high notes, he lost me. However, if this were to be a genuine vocal competition, Adam would win. Unfortunately, it’s not.

Kris Allen – WTF Simon Fuller? Choosing such a light song for the finale is NOT a good idea. Kris was sitting on the stage with his guitar and some band members. Beautiful arrangement of the song, very Jason Mraz-ish. It would’ve looked good if it was a real concert, but it’s a live show for goodness sake. I loved the performance, but it just wasn’t suitable with the night’s theme. Not Kris’ fault.

Who won Round 2? Adam Lambert, by a small margin.

I really hate the coronation song performances. Year after year, they’re so painful to digest. This year was no different. The winning single is entitled “No Boundaries”. Name sounds good, song’s good too, right? WRONG. Last year it was magic rainbows. This year, it was about shitteous mountains and hurricanes. LOL at Simon calling out Kara’s poor penmanship. What’s with the symbolic stuff? Cheesy much. Ahhh shoot yourself in the head Kara. But I know that eventually, the song will grow on me. Bummer.

Adam Lambert – Adam sang the song better than Kris, in my opinion. His voice was high enough to hit the right notes, but there were a lot of pitch problems. Kinda uncomfortable to watch. Adam Lambert + Pop song about mountains = Do not go together. Bad combo. I just cannot picture him doing a song like this, it’s just not Adam. However, if Adam wins, it’ll have to do. I love his eye contact with the camera, very intense.

Kris Allen –  The song definitely suited Kris better, since he’s more pop than Adam is. But his performance was so painful, it was on the verge of desperation. Kris was really struggling to keep up with the song. His vocals were really weak and the whole mic-grabbing was kinda clumsy. Even so, his version of the song was more believable, and I would prefer this to be playing on the radio.

Who lost Round 3? Kara DioGuardi. Fail. Both Kris and Adam are tied.

First of all, I’m surprised that none of the top 2 pulled a Cook and chose to sing a new song, just like Cook did with “The World I Know” last year. Maybe they were forced to do an encore, but I felt that a new song as a last chance to show the audience who they are as an artist would be splendid. Secondly, no drama? No one cried? Too bad. When Cook broke into tears at the end of his performance last year, that was the formula to his success. America was won over by his emotions, it tugged at their heartstrings, and they voted, and he won.

I was slightly disappointed at tonight’s show, it wasn’t as great as last year’s. Last year, both Davids gave awesome performances. This year wasn’t as amazing, but it surely was tight.

The finale is too close to call. I have absolutely no idea who is going to win the whole thing, but I’m fairly certain that both of the contestants deserved to be where they are right now. Kudos to them!

I’m crossing my fingers and toes and hoping that Kris wins. An upset would be EPIC. KRIS ALLEN FOR THE WIN. KRIS ALLEN FOR AMERICAN IDOL 2009.

What do you think? WHO WILL WIN? Leave comments!

American Idol 8 – Top 3 – Results [review]

May 14, 2009

What did I freakin’ say? HOOT! Kris Allen is IN THE TOP 2!!! First thing to do right now! Go to your music player and play Kris’ “Falling Slowly” and listen to it over and over again!! Seriously!

Danny Gokey was eliminated tonight. We all know that his time was up!  Danny was the lowest vote getter this week. With Adam’s large fanbase and Kris’ never-stopping momentum, it’s about time the weakest link got the boot! I think this is a result everyone can be very very happy with. Talk about being shocked, Kara! Not! Kris Allen deserved that top 2 spot.

danny gokey

An incredible 88 million votes were cast! That’s a hell lot! I’m impressed at how strong the contestants this year are garnering those votes (and putting more money in Idol’s pockets). Ryan announced that there were only 1 MILLION VOTES separating the top 2 tonight. WOW. That’s closer than the Davids’ 11% last year.

I really really think that Kris can win this whole thing. He’s quickly gaining momentum and is really defining himself as an artist. Pardon me, but I think that people are kind of getting tired of Adam’s usual screaming in his performances. Kris on the other hand brings something new to the table every single week. Most importantly, he’s a FIGHTER. He’s gotten way less pimpage than Adam or Danny for the whole season, and still manages to stay in the game week after week with only ONE week in the bottom 3. That’s pretty impressive!

It was fun watching the hometown welcoming. Adam Lambert’s was nice and funny, with the nudist and the theater kids asking Adam questions. Awww. Danny Gokey got a massive crowd waiting for him. It was nice to see him and Jamar Rogers united again, that was really sweet! Best of the all, was of course, Kris Allen’s. Judging from what Idol showed to us, Kris had the biggest crowd of them all. I loved the scene where Kris arrived home and hugged his emotional dad. That was the breaking point for me. Tears! ❤

To the not so important stuff… Jordin Sparks performed her AWESOME single, “Battlefield”. I’m obsessed with the song, can’t stop listening to it. Jordin looked stunning in her dress and fierce hair. Her dance moves were so powerful. And Ryan Tedder! Anyone should know by now that most songs penend by Ryan Tedder goes straight up the charts. Here’s hoping Jordin’s will too!

Katy Perry performed “Waking Up In Vegas”. I love Katy Perry, but the fact that her cape said “Adam Lambert” was kind of a turn off for me. I mean it’s cool to like a contestant, but parading it like that is not cool. Her performance was good though. Umm Lady GaGa, I think Katy Perry went through your wardrobe…

It was also nice to see the top 13 in the crowd again. Familiar faces makes the atmosphere better. Awww Matt looked crushed when his BFF Danny was voted off.

Anyways, the finale is next week! WE CAN DO THIS. KRIS ALLEN FOR AMERICAN IDOL 2009. It will be the biggest upset in Idol history. The underdog takes it all!

Take this sinking boat and turn me home…

American Idol 8 – Top 4 – Results [review]

May 7, 2009

Unfortunately, The Scream prevailed. Awww man.

One of the best of the night, Allison Iraheta was the lowest vote getter this week and was sent packing. What a shame, if she stayed another week she would’ve gotten her own hometown parade. The results were definitely not justified, The Scream should’ve went home after his horrible performance last night.

allison iraheta

However, Allison being sent home wasn’t really surprising. What really shocked me was the fact that Kris Allen was safe, and was the first to be sent to the stools. I was literally gaping at my TV screen. It’s not that I don’t like the guy, on the other hand, he’s one of my favourites. But him being in the top 3 just shows how strong his fanbase is becoming. It’s growing larger. Watch your back, frontrunners. The underdog is coming to grab your title. Kris Allen FTW, yo.

And now to the not-so-serious stuff! Slash performed the group number with the contestants. Ummm, still a disaster. You can barely hear Kris over the drone, and I bet he can’t hear himself either. Slash’s hair is creepy. It’s eating his face up.

Paula Abdul graced the Idol stage! Paula was a star. Her choreography was amazing. Forget the lip-synching and the song that is totally out of date, Paula can move. Best non-Idol performance after Lady GaGa, in my opinion.

No Doubt was… No Doubt. Hehe. Usual crazy stuff from Gwen Stefani, I wasn’t a fan of the song and all that running around. But props to Gwen for not lip-synching though. *cough cough*

Chris Daughtry performed his new and totally HOT single “No Surprise”. It’s a really really really good song, it’s getting heavy spins on my music player now. Chris is one of those aritsts who sound better in the studio than playing live. His guitar was HUGE. Hehe. Chris was awarded a 5x Platinum plaque by Idol for his debut album. He’s a perfect example of a contestant  who didn’t win but still manages to be insanely successful. Well deserved!

Allison Iraheta, I’ll be expecting great things for you. As for Kris Allen, I think that it’s his last week next week. Top 2: Danny and Adam.

Have you made The Scream’s Scream your ringtone yet?

American Idol – Top 5 – Results [review]

April 30, 2009

Matt Giraud was eliminated tonight.

matt giraud

Ummm, how do I start this? I’m speechless right now. I’m just so effing proud of Matty G. Matt has been the one to beat since the beginning, giving stellar performances from Hollywood week till the current top 5. Matt’s journey was a roller coaster, getting rave reviews on this week to not so good ones on the next. And being saved by the judges not once, but twice, certainly proved that Matt is worth keeping on the show. Reaching the top 5  in  a heap on talented people is a great feat. Matt can leave the show with his head held high, he has certainly done his best and we can’t wait to see what he’ll do next. This isn’t the end, it’s just the beginning.

Freakin proud of Matty G.

Matt Giraud ♥♥♥

American Idol 8 – Top 7 v2 – Results [review]

April 23, 2009

Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai were eliminated. Good riddance. About time, I say. Their performances overall were definitely weaker than the other contestants’. Lil was the first called, and was axed in an instant. She exited with an optimistic attitude, it was really nice to see her warming smile, even though she knew she was eliminated. All the best in the future, Lil! Meanwhile, Anoop wasn’t too happy. I think it’s the beard, it cursed him and brought bad luck or something. Oh well.

lil rounds

Matt Giraud was safe! I’m so relieved. America has finally gotten their facts right and their ear waxes sucked out and their brains in the right places. Allison Iraheta landed in the bottom three for the third time. Not surprising really, her fanbase situation is like Matt’s, sometime they’re strong, something they disappear. Kris Allen still managed to evade the bottom group, he’s bound to land in there sometime. He, Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert are the only people who have not landed in the bottom three. YET.

anoop desai

Major LOL-worthy group number choreographed by Miss Paula Abdul! I’ve got to say, I enjoyed it immensely. With the horrible lip-synching aside, the dancing was pure entertainment. How odd that Adam didn’t wear any sunglasses; all the other guys were. Kris looked ridiculous in his silver glitter shirt. Matt was the best dancer of the group in my opinion, his moves come off as natural, rather than rehearsed. Adam is in close second for best dancer. I loved watching the dancing rehearsal. Everyone was so into it. And Matt downloading his own song for his ringtone was super adorable!

Ummm, some people performed a disco medley. Didn’t really concentrate on that part, I could only remember Paula dancing her butt off. David Archuleta performed “Touch My Hand”! That’s really great, I love that song. Hopefully, it will be released as the third single. His advice for the bottom two was really mature and thoughtful. Good for you, Archie.

The REAL final five is now complete. Now, the competition begins.

Jazz Week for the top 5! I expect you to shine, Matty G! Don’t let us down now!

American Idol 8 – Top 7 – Results [review]

April 16, 2009

Hehe! It’s our second victory screech in a row. This time its 100000x better. MATT GIRAUD GOT SAVED BY THE JUDGES!! Hoot! I’m so freaking happy that whatever I type might be incomprehensible. So pardon me on that, and all the caps lock you’re going to see. *does the happy dance* Who cares that two contestants get eliminated next week. Muahahaha. All I know that Matt is savvvvvvved. Take that, haters. Lovers, REJOICE!!! SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE!!

matt giraud

It was definitely expected of Matt to be in the bottom three, since he was one of the weaker performances  yesterday. Anoop Desai landed in the bottom for the third week in a row, while Lil Rounds makes her second appearance as well. I do not think that Anoop deserved to be there, he’s done fairly well this week. By right, Lil should’ve definitely been sent packing long ago. She’s just a terrible performer. But I love her attitude, and agree with everything she said yesterday.

It struck me weird that Kris Allen has avoided the bottom three twice now. His score is lowest according to; and he’s been safe on both times. Idol isn’t keen of losing him, he’s too precious. That being said, I’m happy that Kris is no where near the bottom. He’s my second fav after Matt. But I just think that there need to be some justice in this competition.

We can guess so far, the dynamics of the game. Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey are unstoppable. Their fanbases are massive. Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen are starting to pick up steam, and on the way, picking up more fans and favs from the judges. Anoop, Lil and Matt are the only ones who are still shaky, Idol doesn’t seem hesitant of losing them.

Miley Cyrus performs. Or rather, pre-taped her performance. It was kind of a snoozefest, her fair was so wild. Not a huge fan of the song. Jennifer Hudson performed as well, Idol is claiming her tightly. OSCAR WINNER! GRAMMY WINNER! ALL THANKS TO IDOL! Lol.

The group number was awesome this week, mainly because everyone had their own singing parts. The interaction between Allison and Simon was adorable. Best part is, Matt got the lead. HOOT! However, overshadowing much? Oh well, who cares. HE’S SAFE.

Matt sang his butt off!! He was so much better than last night. Kara and Paula were dancing like crazy. Simon you twit. Stop creating suspense! The whole audience was chanting ‘SAVE SAVE SAVE’ like mad. I was chanting along as well. In the end, Simon delivered good news!! WHOOHOOO! Everyone was ecstatic. The contestants were overjoyed for Matt. I loved their little war dance. Adorable much? Matt shed tears of joy. Awwww. ♥

The downside of this save is, Matt’s going to get a lot of hate for the next few weeks. The upside is, WHO FREAKING CARES.

It’s disco week (gasp!) next week. People, please prepare for major pimpations for Adam Lambert Glambert.
