American Idol 8 – Top 8 – Results [review]

April 9, 2009

VICTORY SCREECH!!!

Hallelujah. Scott MacIntyre was finally eliminated. It’s good to know that those who don’t really kick it up a notch get kicked out, leaving space for those who really deserve to win this competition. Scott’s a nice guy. We’ll miss him and his funny retorts and goofy moves. That’s all I can say.

Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai were also in the bottom three. I felt that for a long time, we finally have a justified bottom three. These three were definitely among the performers that weren’t as good as the others. Here’s hoping that Lil goes next, followed by Anoop. Or the other way round, it doesn’t matter. As long as the top 5 comprises of Matt Giraud, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert, I’m content. The five of them are the real contendors.

You guys noticed this? Scott actually said “watch the tape”. Ummm, watch the tape? I thought he’s visually impaired… Hmmm. Oh well. He’s a has-been now. Paula and Kara were trying to offer him the pity votes. Luckily, Simon made the final decision. It didn’t matter whether Scott sang his butt off to “save his life”, in Simon’s book, he’s still going home anyways.

The group performance was this: a hot mess. It started off good, then it got shaky, after that it just got messy and clumsy. From the corny dance moves  that were badly affected by Scott’s inability to move around much, to Adam’s cam-whoring moments, it was just painful to watch. Lil and Allison sounded terrible together, by the way.

Anyone else noticed the tension between Anoop and Scott? It’s like he hates him or something. Seriously. Poor Anoop was often given the responsibility of taking care of Scott. He looked so reluctant and fed up of leading Scott around. Anoop was stuck with Scott from the group number till the end of the show. I enjoyed watching him leading Scott to the third stool and then going around to sit at the first stool, leaving as much space as possible between the two of them. Hehe. Maybe I’m just imagining things.

Flo Rida performed! It was great. But not on par with the awesome Lady GaGa last week though. LOL at no mentions of the girl who was singing the chorus parts. Is that Kesha? She needs more credit. Kellie Pickler is back! Kellie, you looked… different. Maybe it’s your stick thin figure. She started off badly but picked up steam till the end. Ryan muddled up by saying her self titled album was her debut album. Tsk tsk. Even Ryan Seacrest make mistakes.

Operation Electric Shock  has succeed. Our next target: Anoop Desai.

  2. Thank God!! Just about time. Okay, okay, it’s kinda sad you know, the blind guy being elimitaded and everything but it was the right choice.

Next Target: Anoop Desai for sure.

  3. I will miss Scott, he was a nice guy. Finally the bottom three has the worst performances!

The group song was just… terrible. Now I hate the song .w. Scott didn’t knew how to move on stage, Allison and Lil sounds really bad, Danny was off camera and Adam has some cam-whoring moments [quoting you].

Anoop will go home next week.

  4. Not Anoop Dx Lil must go first D<

Lol @ the Anoop and Scott reference. I thought about that too! He was kinda unhappy at some angles xDD But he’s still my idol :3

And i’ll miss Scott of course :]

  5. Anoop actually gave a great performance this week. If he gives another awesome one next week maybe there will be lesser chances of him going home. I REAAAALLY want Lil to leave first before Anoop.

  6. yehey! at long last good people are left!;D that’s about it!:D
