American Idol 7 – Top 9 – Studio Recordings [download]

April 3, 2008

The top 9 are back to tackle country music in the warmth of the studios.

– American Idol 7 – Top 9 Studio Recordings –

Dolly Parton Week

Track List:

  1. Brooke White – “Jolene”
  2. David Cook – “Little Sparrow”
  3. Ramiele Malubay – “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind”
  4. Jason Castro – “Travellin’ Through”
  5. Carly Smithson – “Here You Come Again”
  6. David Archuleta – “Smoky Mountain Memories”
  7. Kristy Lee Cook – “Coat Of Many Colors”
  8. Syesha Mercado – “I Will Always Love You”
  9. Michael Johns – “It’s All Wrong But It’s All Right”

Jason’s track is nice, it’s easy to the ears. Brooke’s and David Cook’s sounds rather similar to their versions on stage, so nothing special.

Carly and David A have amazing vocals. Kristy’s track is the only one which actually sounds like country music to me, and again, I’m a fan of it.

I like Syesha’s country twist to her song, it’s definitely not the Whitney Houston road. Michael’s sounds different from the live version, which is nice.

A tribute to Ramiele Malubay.
