Septimus Heap 3 – Physik

October 12, 2007

The third of Angie Sage’s Septimus Heap series is here. Finally go the chance to read it after a long month of exams!

The third book is, in my opinion, the best out of all the current 3 Septimus Heap books. It’s more understandable (although it is complex, it clicks together at the end) and more fun to read. I thought Magyk (Book 1) was great too, but Physik beats Magyk all the way. Flyte (Book 2) was just confusing.

I like the book covers for all 3 books. They’re so creative. And the way Angie Sage spells things. Hehe.

The cons of her series is she tries to cram so much (a lot!) of information into a 500 page book. Sometimes she gets so creative that her ideas will run away and it just wont make sense.

But Physik kicks punch. The summary of the story is HERE.

Angie introduces lots of new characters, such as Queen Etherdredda (Jenna’s great-great-great20x grandmother), Alice Nettles (Alther’s lover), Snorri Snorrelson, a Northern Trader, 14 years old, and Marcellus Pye, an alchemist.

I like Snorri a lot, probably because she sounds a lot like Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series. Mysterious, bubbly, weird and charming. And she’s in a relationship with Nicko! (Septimus’ brother) 🙂 I like that! Pity they’re still stuck at 500years behind time.

Overall a great book.

Rating: 8.5/10

Elliott Yamin Will Release A Christmas Album!

October 12, 2007

What a great way to spend Christmas! While celebrating we can listen to him singing carols all day long. Elliott is going to release a Christmas album! Yeah!

There is also some more great news for Elliott fans, as he is releasing a Christmas album. The collection will include his own unique take on such classics as “This Christmas;” “Little Drummer Boy;” “Merry Christmas, Baby;” “The Christmas Song;” and “Jingle Bells.” In addition, Elliott recorded three original songs that are exclusively for this album–“A Very Merry Christmas,” “Let’s be Naughty (And Save Santa the Trip),” as well as “Warm Me Up.”

Considering his self-titled debut album has sold more than 500,000 copies since its release, the holiday album will most likely enjoy immense popularity among Elliott’s fans.

Immense popularity definitely! He’s already popular!

Can’t wait for Christmas to come!

Forget Santa Clause… This Santa can deliver his album to my doorstep. 🙂

“let it snow let it snow let it snow…”

Malaysia’s (current) Two Most Eligible Bachelors

October 12, 2007

You know who I’m talking about. Yes, you’re right. These two:

Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar and Capt. Faiz Khaleed, both astronauts, the first already sent into space. They are the hottest topic everywhere.

The more ‘popular’ one is of course, Dr. Sheikh, the part time lecturer, part time surgeon and part time (yes you’ve guess it) model.

People are always going, is he single? Married? No, he is single. But, people, he is 35. Quite old. Not surprisingly, he has his own FAN CLUB:

Even my mom was crazy over him. Before the primary astronaut was chosen, she went, “Oooh, I hope they choose Sheikh, he’s so handsome.” Well duh, he IS a model.

Stop drooling.

Let’s not forget the other guy. He is of course, the dentist, Capt. Faiz Khaleed, 27. Hmm. Quite eligible. I guess. He looks like the settle-down, nic, down-to-earth, committed guy.

Plus, he has a Friendster account: (if that helps)

And he was Cleo magazine’s 50 most eligible bachelors 2005. XD See his page HERE.

Long speech short, congrats to both of them for making it this far, and hope that Dr. Sheikh will come back safely and enjoys his Raya in outer space.

Malaysia Flying High – First Astronaut Into Space

October 12, 2007

Two days back, on 9.21pm, Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar was blasted into space with his fellow astronauts/cosmonauts/coconuts (Whatever you call them) USA’s Peggy Whitson and Russia’s Yuri Malenchenko from Baikonur, Kazakhstan.

Mr. Yuri never (never!) laughs. He just smiles or doesn’t smile. Dunno why.

Congrats to Malaysia, Mr. Abdullah Badawi and Mr. Sheikh himself. He would be spending Hari Raya in space and he has to pray for 80 times per day. Now that’s something. Anyway, this definitely places Malaysia higher in a higher position in the world! Great gift as it is Malaysia’s 50th year of independence.

Hopefully, Malaysia’s secondary astronaut, Captain Faiz Khaleed will be into space too someday.
